Pediatric cardiac care in India is witnessing remarkable advancements in recent years, through cardiological and surgical procedures, and pre-operative and post-operative intensive care. At the forefront of this progress is increasing public awareness and availability of funds through government-funded healthcare schemes. In this background, the conference serves as a vital nexus for sharing the latest insights, research findings, and clinical experiences in the field of pediatric cardiac intensive care. Through a series of keynote lectures, skill stations, work stations, demonstrations, case-based discussions and panel discussion, experts will collaborate to address a spectrum of topics ranging from early detection of congenital heart defects to intensive medical and nursing care for critically ill children with heart disease, both during pre-operative stabilization of patients and post-operative management.
The conference, being conducted by the Department of Pediatrics at the Advanced Pediatrics Center, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, will also provide interdisciplinary platform to specialists from the country and abroad to work together to develop formal academic programs in this relatively new subspecialty in the country.
Furthermore, this program fosters an environment of continuous learning and professional growth, nurturing the next generation of pediatricians and nurses into a subspecialty of ‘New-Age Pediatrics’ in India.
The conference is being organized in collaboration with the Association of Pediatricians City Beautiful and the Punjab Medical Council, and is partially supported by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) and the Council of Science & Industrial Research (CSIR).
