Membership

Life Members:  Medical practitioners holding qualifications in modern medicine recognized by the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and the National Medical Commission Act 2019, involved in clinical practice of critical care of children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, would be eligible for Life Membership of the Society. Non-medical professionals and scientists with an interest in research and development related to the critical care management of children with congenital and acquired heart diseases would also be eligible for Life Membership. A Life Member shall be entitled to vote at General Body meetings of the Society, and to be an office-bearer.

Life membership is also open to dedicated professionals and scientists from abroad. A tiered Life membership fee would be applicable as per the following policy—

  • SAARC/BIMSTEC/Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MCC) Countries: A generous 50% discount compared to professionals working in India.
  • Other Low-Income Countries: Also benefit from a 50% discount.
  • Other Middle-Income Countries: A 25% premium will apply.
  • High-Income Countries: The fee will be five times that of the professionals working in India.

 

Life Members (Paramedics): Registered qualified clinical professionals holding qualifications recognized by the Indian Nursing Council Act 1947 (e.g., nurses, nursing officers) and the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act 2021 (e.g., physiotherapists, ECMO technicians etc.) involved in clinical practice of critical care of children with congenital and acquired heart diseases would be eligible for Life Membership (Paramedics) of the Society. A Life Member (Paramedics) shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at General Body meetings of the Society or become an office-bearer.

The Life Membership fee for paramedic professionals working outside India would be as per the policy applicable to Life Members. 

Associate Life Members: Philanthropists, donors, spouses of Life Members, and interested family members of children with heart diseases requiring critical care would be eligible for the Associate Membership of the Society. Their name(s) need to be unanimously recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by a two-thirds majority at a meeting of the General Body. An Associate Member shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the Society or become an office-bearer.

The Associate Life Membership fee for people working outside India would be as per the policy applicable to Life Members. 

Annual Corporate Members: Representatives from the corporate sector (e.g., pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of disposables and equipment) willing to sponsor the activities of the Society would be eligible to become annual corporate members, provided their name(s) is/are unanimously recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by a two-thirds majority at a meeting of the General Body. The Corporate Membership would be for a calendar year. The Corporate Members shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society, but they shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the Society or become an office-bearer.

The Corporate Membership fee for organizations working outside India would be as per the policy applicable to Life Members. 

Institutional Members: Other societies, organizations, foundations, hospitals specializing in pediatric cardiac programs, etc., would be eligible to become institutional members, provided their name(s) is/are unanimously recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by a two-thirds majority at a meeting of the General Body. The Institutional Membership would be for five (05) calendar years. The Institutional Members shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society, but they shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the Society or become an office-bearer.

The Institutional Membership fee for organizations working outside India would be as per the policy applicable to Life Members. 

Honorary Members: Any individual who has rendered outstanding service to the field of pediatric cardiac critical care, provided his/her name is unanimously recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by a two-thirds majority at a meeting of the General Body. An Honorary Member shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the Society or become an office-bearer.
