The 3^rd Annual Meeting of the Society of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care (the SPCCC-2025) was organized at Narayana Health City, Bengaluru, uniting leaders and learners in pediatric cardiac intensive care. Organized by the Department of Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care, the conference served as a vibrant platform to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in managing critically ill children with congenital and acquired heart disease.

This year marked a pivotal milestone with the adoption of a hybrid format, combining a robust in-person experience with a fully integrated online platform. The event featured—

Conference Highlights

Expert-Led Sessions: Covered advanced topics in neonatal and infant cardiac physiology, fluid and hemodynamic management, postoperative challenges, arrhythmias, mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, and heart failure.
Super Sixers: Young intensivists delivered impactful presentations in a unique “6 Minutes, 6 Slides, 6 Takeaways” format—highlighting innovation and real-world applicability.
Intensive Epilates: Challenging real-world case scenarios were presented by leading pediatric cardiac intensivists from across India.
Technology & Innovation Sessions: Focused on AI, big data, and the use of predictive analytics in pediatric cardiac care.
Panel Discussion: Senior leaders discussed the “Past, Present, and Future” of pediatric cardiac ICU care in India, with emphasis on team building, ICU databases, and quality improvement.
Scientific Paper Presentations: A total of 10 abstracts were presented, showcasing original research, case studies, and innovations in pediatric cardiac intensive care.

Nursing Workshop (April 13, 2025)

It was held in the Skill Lab, Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences. The SPCCC Nursing Workshop provided a hands-on, immersive educational experience for pediatric cardiac nurses from across India. With participation from over 67 different nursing institutions, the workshop focused on practical bedside care, communication strategies, and simulation-based learning.

Immersive Sessions: “A Day in the Life of a Cardiac PICU Nurse”
Key Topics: Pacing, open chest and drain care, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension crisis, and hemodynamic monitoring
Group Activities:
ISBAR-based communication games
Simulation of unstable SVT management
Medication safety quiz
Bundle care protocols

Faculty & Facilitators: Expert teams from Fortis, Rainbow, Aster, Amrita, Kokilaben, and Narayana Health guided participants through each session.

Impact

Institutional Participation and Reach: The in-person events saw enthusiastic participation from across India—

129 medical institutions were represented by doctors, nurses, and paramedical delegates at the main conference.
67 different nursing institutions sent participants to the specialized Nursing Workshop.
Speakers and moderators came from over 30 esteemed healthcare institutions, reflecting the depth and diversity of expertise shared during the sessions.

This diverse representation reinforced SPCCC’s mission of fostering pan-Indian collaboration and knowledge-sharing in pediatric cardiac critical care.

Educational Value: The conference championed not only the latest in clinical science but also emphasized practical skills, team communication, and interdisciplinary synergy.
