India has seen remarkable progress in pediatric cardiac care in recent years, driven by advancements in both pediatric cardiology and surgical interventions, as well as enhanced pre- and post-operative intensive care. This progress has been further supported by growing public awareness and improved access to resources through various healthcare support initiatives. Against this backdrop, the 5th Annual Meeting of the Society of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care (the SPCCC-2027) is being hosted at Hyderabad.

The conference will bring together leading experts for a dynamic exchange of knowledge through keynote lectures and panel discussions. The focus will span the continuum of care— from early detection of congenital heart defects to the intensive medical and nursing management of critically ill children, covering both pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the latest clinical practices, research innovations, and evolving guidelines in pediatric cardiac emergency and critical care—within a setting that promotes continuous learning and professional development.

In line with the goal of building robust practice foundations in this growing subspecialty, two pre-conference workshops will be organized. The Basic Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Course (BPCCCC) will have skill and work-stations including POCUS, ECMO, Wet Lab demonstrations and case-based discussions. An one-day workshop on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Nursing (PCCCN) will be dedicated to enhancing the specialized skills and knowledge of nursing professionals.

With national and international participation, the event aims to contribute meaningfully to the development of formal academic and training pathways in pediatric cardiac critical care in India.
